the traditional craft of stone construction

When we were on Inis Oirr someone referred to glacial erratics, on the Burren I think it was, as 'Connemara visitors' or 'Connemara strangers'.

Can anyone confirm this term, or others used to describe glacial erratics?

If we can find words to rhyme with 'erratics' and other such terms - then we should ALL try to help Liam Friel with the lyrics for his rock anthem - which he shall be composing in readiness for Inis Óirr 2013 - on his rock guitar

for eggsample -

'Baby I love your erratics -

Your feidin wall leaves me in estatics -

Baby you rock my biology -

With your calcareous geology'

The Irish word for an 'erratic' is apparently  a 'cloch corr' and the townland of Cloghcor in Co. Sligo is littered with them, maybe someone in that neck of the woods as a name or two for them.

It is a perfect term, who ever told it to you.

Perhaps it was one of the Connemara boys?
